Coach Bachman
Hi, I'm Richard Bachman — former professional goaltender and current goal-tending coach with a lifelong passion for developing competitive hockey players.
Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised on the outdoor rink in northern New York, I fell in love with the game at a young age. As a youth player, I competed in multiple National Championships, an experience that shaped my understanding of what it takes to compete at a high level. My junior career took me to the USHL, and from there I went on to play college hockey at Colorado College, where I became the second player in WCHA history to be named both Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in the same season.
I was selected 120th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft and went on to enjoy a professional career spanning over a decade, playing in the NHL with the Dallas Stars, Edmonton Oilers, and Vancouver Canucks. After retiring in 2020, I transitioned into professional coaching, where I have spent the pat 6 seasons working with the next generation of players.
Now I’m bringing that wealth of experience directly to travel-level youth players who are serious about their development. I work exclusively with athletes who are already committed to the game and hungry to take their skills to the next level. Whether you're looking to sharpen your positioning, improve your technique, or develop the mental game that separates good players from great ones, I'm here to help you get there.
